Staff Spotlight: Jamie Cunningham
Jamie Cunningham, MS, is the Career Counselor for the Department of Economics, where she helps undergraduate and graduate students explore career paths, secure internships, prepare for graduate school, and build professional skills for long-term success.
Since joining the department in August 2025, she has worked closely with students on translating their Economics coursework into real-world career opportunities across industries such as consulting, finance, analytics, government, research, and business operations.
Jamie collaborates with faculty, Career Success, employers, and campus partners to create career programming and networking opportunities for students, including industry information sessions, employer engagement events, and professional development workshops. She is especially passionate about helping students feel more confident navigating the transition from college to career.
Before transitioning into higher education and workforce development, Jamie spent nearly 13 years working in the criminal justice field. She later moved into workforce development, where she helped job seekers gain skills, complete training programs, and connect with employment opportunities. She earned her undergraduate degree in Integrated Health Studies from Kent State University and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University.
