Economics Graduate Students Lin and Moon Received the Graduate Associate Teaching Award
Yanli Lin and Jeyoung Moon were recipients of the 2023 Graduate Associate Teaching Award. The recipients of the Graduate Associate Teaching Award are awarded $2,000 for their accomplishments and honored at the Graduate School Awards Ceremony. Any Ohio State student (undergraduate, graduate, or professional), faculty, or staff member may nominate a graduate teaching associate and graduate students are also encouraged to nominate themselves. Eligible nominees must have been appointed as a Graduate Teaching Associate and must have taught at least one full semester as a GTA and be a current student and must have a GPA of 3.0 or better at the time of nomination.
Yanli Lin is a 5th year Ph.D. Candidate in Economics. Her primary research interests are theoretical and applied econometrics, with a current focus on spatial and network models. She also has keen interests in labor economics, and regional science and urban economics. Yanli has taught an undergraduate elementary econometrics course and been GTAs for a graduate Econometrics course and undergraduate principles of microeconomics courses.
Jeyoung Moon is a 5th-year Ph. D. student specializing in Macro/International. He has taught Principles of Macroeconomics as an independent instructor since Spring 2022. He has been awarded Departmental Citation for Excellence in Teaching (2021), L. Edwin Smart Graduate Associate Teaching Award (2022), and Graduate Associate Teaching Award (2023).
