Greta Warmbier discovered her passion for Economics during her senior year of high school, where she excelled in AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics. Under the guidance of an engaging and passionate professor, her interest in the subject grew, leading her to prioritize Economics over other subjects. She recognized the clear connection between economic principles and real-life applications.
During her undergraduate studies, Greta pursued research opportunities and completed an Honors Thesis titled "Country Club Pricing from an Economic Lens." This research analyzed the pricing structure of private golf clubs, highlighting the challenges faced by middle-class individuals. She proposed realistic solutions to address these barriers to entry. She successfully defended their thesis in May 2023. In addition to research, she gained practical experience through internships at organizations such as the Legal Aid Society of Columbus, The Innocence Project at University of Cincinnati College of Law, the Ohio Department of Health, a law firm serving Spanish-speaking clients, and AMEND Consulting. As an active participant in Economics-related extracurriculars, Greta served as a tutor at the Economics Learning Center and worked as a grader for courses on Econ of Sports and Sports Data Analytics and Economic Analysis. Recognized for her academic achievements, Greta received the Eminence Fellow designation and The Ohio State University Economics Undergraduate Scholarship for Excellence in 2022.
Looking ahead, Greta is excited to begin her career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, where she will apply their economic knowledge and analytical skills to address complex business challenges.
